Many people who suffer from depression dont realize the underlying anxiety that co-exists with this disease. What is important is that both depression and anxiety be treated in order to have more successful results for relief.
The question that remains controversial is which depression and anxiety treatments work the best? Some find that taking a prescribed medication such as an antidepressant, works miracles while others choose to deal with depression and anxiety through alternative medication.
Depression and anxiety counseling have not been lost: there have merely been hundreds of depression and anxiety theories factored in to which treatment works best. Many times, finding the correct depression and anxiety counseling is as much trial-and-error as finding the correct antidepressant, herbal remedy or dosage. Many experts stress that depression and anxiety is best treated with a combination of drug therapy and psychotherapy.
